Hey there again Mark, As posted in another thread, I think the city of Toronto should have a pilot program where a hotline is created, and residents CALL to request a FREE semi-matured tree to be planted on your lawn, or in your backyard. I think its a great way to spare the air, and show that council REALLY cares about our environment..

*chuckle* I get attacked by my crazyfingers now and again too.
I'm ALWAYS in favour of "greening" the city. If it's affordable, then absolutely. There are (aren't there always) a few things to consider - will the roots interfere with utilities? has there been any, for example, Dutch Elm disease in the area? will the mature tree interfere with anyone's sight or property lines in the future? that sort of thing.
If I were approached about something like this (be it by another councillor or a fellow taxpayer) then I'd certainly be receptive (and yes, you can quote me!) Thanks Hy ~ nice to see people with environmental concerns too!
