Have a look at what new bike lanes through Downtown Montreal look like: farm4.static.flickr.com/3646/3594148731_4902edee7d.jpgThat's something you can send your children on without them getting killed. Grandma, too. If Toronto had a bike lane like this, I am certain that many people will leave the car at home, resulting in less traffic and gridlock. But most importantly: Why can't we be as cool as Montreal?

No question, the current Toronto bike lanes are a JOKE.
I'm not sure that gridlock can be alleviated by the bike, at least not in Western civilization, but things like this would be worth doing to prevent injuries alone. Wonder what those cost?

Neat. I still think that I like the Montreal lanes - purely because they appear safer, due to being set apart. However, London's got character (and characters) that's for sure - most of their ideas are at least worth a look.
